You have already written your songs on paper and now want to continue with it in chordel and collaborate on it with your band?
This is now possible with our second premium feature.
Create a new song and choose the "From Pen & Paper" starting point:

Take a picture of the song and upload it:

Atfer waiting for some seconds, your song is extracted from the picture including lyrics, chords, sections, title and a matching emoji ;)

From now one, when you create a new song, you have the choice how you want to start. Currently there are 3 starting options:

  1. From Scratch
    : You have a blank page. This is the same starting point as it was before this update.
  2. From Template
    : You can choose from a set of pre-defined templates which will scaffold you songs structure to quick start your song based on familar structure: image Which results in the following scaffold of sections: image
  3. Generate with AI
    : Our first premium feature helps you to scaffold your song based on a topic, genre and mood: image After entering your topic, genre, and mood, the AI will generate a fitting structure, emoji, song title and storyline which is broken down to each section in its description. This will help you (and the AI in the future) to write better lyrics. image
Currently it's not possible to upgrade your plan to
Premium
. However, if you are interested in testing out the new feature, add some feedback or reviews (please let us know) and we will upgrade your space for a limited time period for free.
Documentation
There is now whole new space for documentation. If you had a questions or couldn't figure out how things should work you can now visit chordel.com/docs.

Improved Setlist Integration
  • Setlist Navigation
    : When a song is opened from a setlist it is now possible to quickly navigate to the next (or the previous song) in the setlist. It also shows the index of the current song in setlist, so you always know how many songs are left. image
  • Setlists in Space
    : The setlists are now better separated visually from songs in the space overview. By selecting the 'Setlists' tab it is now possible to see the setlists separated from the songs. Creating a new setlist is now also possible at this screen via the new "New Setlist" button: image
Improved Navigation to Space
It is now possible to directly jump to the home page of your space by clicking on the space name (or icon) in th sidebar: image
Give your songs an order
Setlists is a new feature that allows you to sort your songs into lists. Whether it is a list of your favourite songs, your new album, our a list for your next gig. Setlists allow you to add your songs to a list and order them as you like.

Create a new setlist from your sidebar:

Readonly mode for songs
When you visit a song from a setlist, the song will be readonly per default to elimate the possibility of an unwanted change.
If you want to edit the song nonetheless, feel free to do so by toggling the "read-only" button:

This button can also be enabled when you visit the song on the normal way, e.g. from your sidebar.

Stabilized Offline Mode
The app should now be able to give you access to your songs when you are offline.
  • Fixed
    : After a certain amount of time (usually an hour) after the app was last opened, and afterwards the app was opened in offline mode, the app showed a blank page. This should not happen anymore.
  • When the app is offline, the songs are in readonly mode now and can not be edited.
  • The app now displays an offline banner in the sidebar / an icon in the navigation bar when the app is ini offline mode.

More chords with new Chord Picker
With the new chord picker it is now possible to build choose any chord possible. It is now structured to feature the chords that are used in the song prominently.

By clicking the icon with the dashed circle around the plus, the new chord builder is opened.
After selecting the dominat note, different categories can be selected to alter the chord symbol:

After choosing a category (e.g.
quali
), the specific change can be selected:

After choosing the value, the chord can either be accepted by clicking the purple button with the check icon, or further changes can be done.

Fixes
  • The used chords that appear in a 'chord block' are now included in the suggested chords in the picker: image
  • In some cases chords could not be added (e.g. at the end of a lyrics line) or be removed.
  • When a chord was added before or after the same chord, one of them vanished

Move songs to a different space
It is now possible to move a song to a different space by using the "Move Song to Space" button in the "Danger Zone" section of the song settings page.

This will open a dialog where the user can choose a space to which song should be moved

Move blocks buttons
On mobile devices it was not possible to use the drag handle reorder blocks. Now there are new arrow buttons to move whole blocks into each direction by one step at a time:

  • Side Menu Button is now working again
  • Changes to a copied "Chord Block" does now only reflect to the copied one instead of the original one that was copied

Emoji Picker Improvements

  • Fixed Search
    : it is now possible to delete the whole search query, and there is a "reset" button when the search yields no results image
  • Improved Performance
    : The picker now opens instantly, as well as when switching to other groups
  • Improved Layout
    : the picker now always has the same width. Previously it changed the width when a search query was entered.
  • Song Page Integration
    : Once an emoji is selected, it is now instantly updated in the song page (previously it took some seconds)
Prevent Screen Lock
When a song is opened the screen is kept awave in order to prevent the lock. This will help to avoid unwanted triggering of sleep mode during jamming sessions.
This feature can be disabled in the user preferences:
